Radiator Sight Gauge For Skid Steer Loader Converted From A Three-Piece Assembly Into A Single Molded Part Of High Performance PEI Plastic – New Design From Minnesota Rubber and Plastics Has Increased Operating Life At Lower Cost

Radiator Sight Gauge For Skid Steer LoaderMinneapolis, Minnesota: Converting a complex, three-piece assembly into a single molded part of high performance PEI plastic increased operating life while lowering costs for a radiator sight gauge.

Custom molded by Minnesota Rubber and Plastic (MR&P), these new sight gauges have significant operating advantages over the previous design. On the radiator, these sight gauges show coolant level without having to uncap and check the level or use a dipstick. With a threaded base, the single component gauge locks tightly into position and is less prone to leakage. With excellent mechanical properties, the new gauge has high heat resistance to 356° F and material stability ensuring operating life up to 20 years.

When precision molded of high performance Polyetherimide (PEI) by MR&P, improved design function and cost efficiency is possible over other material formulations including metal components. PEI sight gauges and similar components have excellent hydrolytic and UV stability as well as radiation resistance. PEI is extremely well suited for repeated hot air, steam and cold chemical exposure. It is inherently flame retardant and can be used for long periods at continuous temperatures up to 356° F.

This sight gauge design conversion, from a three-piece assembly into a single molded part, is a typical example of MR&P's comprehensive design services. These are offered to further advance customer design and manufacturing programs. The MR&P design services include: preliminary engineering assistance and mechanical design review, and materials engineering including research and development into a full range of high performance plastics. MR&P also provides rapid mold design and development, FEA analysis, prototype services, process engineering, injection, compression transfer and liquid silicone rubber molding including metal-to-plastics conversions.
