Minneapolis, Minnesota: Flush valve assemblies designed, molded and assembled by Minnesota Rubber and Plastics ensure exact flow rate while resisting water degradation and component swell.
Molded of a custom thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and Acetal formulation, these valve assemblies have the physical properties to meet demanding pressure flex requirements and product life expectations.
Minnesota Rubber and Plastics produces the multi-component assembly in large quantities, eliminating the need for multiple components from multiple suppliers. The component consolidation resulted in the elimination of flush valve run-on problems during use while speeding up the assembly process with reduced labor content.
Design of the assembly diaphragm incorporates the Aqua Advantage™, Minnesota Rubber and Plastics' unique design with tight tolerance, flash-free bleed holes. This design allows the diaphragm seal to unseat properly for the flush operation and return to its seated position, sealing off water flow once the pre-set flow has occurred.
"Minnesota Rubber and Plastics' in-process molding and assembly optimizes labor and provides continuous feedback for defect-free, just-in-time part delivery," reports Ted Ahrenholtz, design engineer for Minnesota Rubber and Plastics. "This is in contrast to individual component's supplied to the customer that result in less efficient batch production and assembly. This method has potential for some assemblies getting to the customer's point of assembly that do not meet specification and can cause product failure. Our process minimizes that potential."
