Custom Silicone Overmolding Processes From Minnesota Rubber and Plastics Now Available For Medical Devices Requiring Repeated Sterilizations And For Single Use Procedures
Minneapolis, Minnesota: Minnesota Rubber and Plastics offers a range of unique Silicone formulations for overmolding multiple use medical devices requiring hundreds of sterilizations as well as for single use procedures.
These unique Silicone formulations from Minnesota Rubber and Plastics may be overmolded to a wide range of substrates including stainless steel, aluminum, PEEK™ and Radel® providing the medical designer with design options. Minnesota Rubber's proprietary Silicone bonding process creates a hermetic seal between the Silicone and the overmolded instrument. These bonds withstand repeated autoclaving and inhibit the migration of body fluids between sealed surfaces.
To further enhance the uniqueness of these custom Silicone overmolding formulations, Minnesota Rubber and Plastics provides a full range of durometers, conductive or insulated Silicone materials and custom colorization of components. In addition, many of Minnesota Rubber and Plastics' Silicone formulations are USP Class 6 and ISO 10993 implantable grade materials.
With over 60 years of rubber and plastics molding experience, Minnesota Rubber and Plastics is an EN ISO 13485:2003 certified supplier with program management and quality management systems to serve the medical device industry. The company provides design assistance, molding, assembly and inspection along with secure barcode packaging to ensure material lot and part traceability for FDA Class I, II and III products.
