Molded PEEK Components For Chemical Processing Applications From Minnesota Rubber and Plastics Provide Outstanding Fatigue And Chemical Resistance

Chemical Processing Applications for PEEK Parts

Outstanding fatigue and chemical resistance are features of molded PEEK seals and similar components for chemical processing applications when molded by Minnesota Rubber and Plastics.

Minneapolis, Minnesota: Seals, pump components, and compressor plates molded of PEEK by Minnesota Rubber and Plastics (MR&P) for chemical processing applications have higher fatigue and chemical resistance than similar components molded of fluoropolymers.

PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) withstands temperatures in excess of 500°F (260°C) and pressures up to 580 psi. PEEK component designs from MR&P have excellent resistance to chemically aggressive environments, electricity and radiation. The results are improved function and greater longevity over traditional molded materials.

The chemical processing industry strives for purity of product, reports Minnesota Rubber and Plastics. PEEK is inherently pure and therefore can be used in long service applications with extremely low levels of contamination introduced to the chemical streams being processed.

MR&P will provide detailed evaluations of the chemical resistance, processing and physical properties of PEEK upon request.

In addition to PEEK, MR&P specializes in the molding of a full range of high performance plastics including PEI, Aurum®, Torlon® and many others.

Designers Note: MR&P will augment and advance customer design and manufacturing programs with its comprehensive design services. These include: preliminary engineering assistance and mechanical design review, and materials engineering including research and development into a full range of high performance plastics. MR&P also provides rapid mold design, and development and prototype services including process engineering, injection, compression, transfer and liquid silicone rubber molding, as well as metal-to-plastics conversions.

Experience and Certifications: With over 65 years experience serving a broad range of industries, MR&P provides large scale capabilities to handle all custom molding requirements. MR&P's corporate-wide quality systems include: ISO 13485, ISO-TS 16949 and ISO 9000 in all facilities. These facilities operate under a corporate-wide Environmental Management System registered to ISO-14001.
